'Dreaded' robber hits Cannon Beach bank
10:50 AM PDT on Thursday, October 2, 2008
PORTLAND -- A man disguised in fake dreadlocks, a colored, knit hat and artificial tattoos was caught on surveillance camera robbing a U.S. Bank branch in Cannon Beach Tuesday afternoon.
The unusual circumstances -- and the man's escape -- have led to collaboration between local police and the FBI.
Investigators say the disguised man walked into the bank and demanded money from a teller by passing her a note.
The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Federal and state officials are seeking public assistance in capturing the man. Anyone with information is urged to call the Cannon Beach Police Department at (503) 436-2811.
