Three children taken, two adults arrested after meth bust

SALEM – Two people were arrested and three children were taken into protective custody Thursday after detectives served a search warrant at two locations in northeast Salem.

Antonio Calderon-Gonzalez, 41, and Esperanza Garza, 31, were both arrested on drug related charges, according to the Marion Co. Sheriff's Office. Garza was also charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Calderon-Gonzalez was charged with nine counts of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and nine counts of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine. He was on probation through Marion County for a previous conviction for delivery of methamphetamine.

He was being held at the Marion County Jail without bail.

Esperanza Garza is the mother of three children, ages 1 through 10. Her three children were taken into protective custody by the Department of Human Services.

During the search, police found drug paraphernalia in the same bedroom she and her children shared.

More than half a pound of meth was seized.

Search warrants were served at 4134 Devonshire Ct. N.E. and 3196 Northgate Ave. N.E.

The search brought an end to a four-month investigation.
