Man wanted for stealing drugs from SE pharmacies

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Crime Stoppers offered a reward Thursday for help finding a man who held up drug stores in Southeast Portland.

The first robbery happened on August 20, when a man in his 30s went in to the Walgreen’s on Southeast 39th Avenue and demanded drugs before pulling a knife. Workers handed over bottle of Oxycontin pills and the man left on foot.

Then on Monday, a similarly described suspect went into the Walgreens on 39th and Holgate, but was told the pharmacy was closed. Minutes later the man showed up at the drugstore on SE 39th, pulled a knife and demanded drugs.

Surveillance cameras captured photos of the man.

He was described as white, in his late 30’s, 6-feet tall, and weighing 200 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. Police said he walked hunched over and wore a wig with a long ponytail.

Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
