A former wife of Ward Weaver says investigators continue to question her
son about the case – even asking Francis Weaver to take a polygraph test.
Francis is the son who called 911 and told a dispatcher, that his father
killed Ashely Pond and Miranda Gaddis.
It appears authorities now want more information about what he knew and
when.
KGW spoke with Francis’ mother, Maria Weaver Shaw off-camera Monday. Shaw confirmed that investigators questioned her son and gave him a polygraph test sometime in the past two weeks.
The questioning followed the discoveries of Ashley and Miranda’s bodies in Ward Weaver’s back yard in Oregon City.
Shaw told KGW Reporter John Flick "Yes, he did take a polygraph test. But he passed it. He didn’t do anything, he didn’t do anything.”
Francis has appeared on national news programs including NBC’s "Today Show.” Francis said he was suspicious of his father but only acted on the day Ward allegedly raped his girlfriend.
“When he did what he had done to my girlfriend, I knew if he could do something that sick, then all my denial was washed away,” Francis said.
Investigators will not comment on whether they gave Francis a polygraph test or took any other evidence from him.
Meantime, Ward Weaver remains in the Clackamas County jail on the rape charges. He has not been charged in the murders of Ashley and Miranda, but prosecutors are seeking an indictment.
