BEND, Ore. -- Search and rescue crews have recovered the body of a man who drowned during a canoe trip on the Deschutes River.
The victim's name has not been released, but the authorities say he was 27.
The canoe overturned Sunday as the man and a friend went over Pringle Falls west of La Pine. The other man made it safely out of the water.
Earlier this summer, a woman died in the same area when she fell out of a raft that went over the falls. Signs in the area warn people to avoid the falls, and a local resident told KTVZ-TV that extra signs went up three weeks ago.
