“At the time of the crash, the OSP motorcycle had emergency lights and siren activated,” said Lt. Gregg Hastings with OSP.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. Hastings said trooper Jason Lindland was traveling northbound on Highway 99E in Oregon City, responding to a traffic crash on Interstate 205, when the truck suddenly pulled in front of him.
“Trooper Lindland was in the left northbound lane approaching the intersection with 11th Street when a southbound 1986 Toyota pickup turned left toward 11th Street in front of Trooper Lindland,” Hastings explained. “The OSP motorcycle crashed into the right rear side of the pickup.
Lindland, 33, was ejected from his motorcycle and catapulted over the pickup, landing in the roadway.
He was transported by ambulance to Milwaukie Providence Hospital for treatment of a minor forearm injury, and scrapes and bruises.
The driver of the pickup, Greg Hettenhouser, 47, of Gladstone, was not injured. He was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
