BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Two people were arrested for impersonating police in a Beaverton home invasion.

Officers were called to the apartment on SW Center Street in Beaverton Saturday after reports that the man and woman, dressed like police officers entered the home, and assaulted a man inside with a club, pepper spray and a taser.

Detectives on Tuesday arrested 48-year-old Michael Vaught Sumpter and 38-year-old Lisa Irene Swanson.

The victim was later identified as Justus Akwenuke.

Police said the commotion woke up a woman who lived there. She was taken out by the suspects to a park in S.E. Portland where she was asked to complete a written statement.

The female victim was not assaulted and was taken back to Beaverton and released.

Akwenuke was not seriously hurt. The two suspects also took a cell phone and some drugs from the apartment before leaving, investigators said.

Police said the crime was revenge or intimidation stemming from a dispute Akwenuke had with his former roommate.
