Milwaukie police say 16-year-old Shawn Glancy, 17-year-old Rauno Helmik and 19-year-old Samuel Earl Morton attacked 43-year-old Andrew Gonzalez at the Jefferson Street boat ramp August first.

The three teens faced a Clackamas County judge Monday afternoon. The judge ruled they will all be held on $250,000 bail. They are all charged with attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon. The two minors are being charged as adults. If convicted, the teens face a minimum of seven years in prison.

“It’s a sin what they did and they deserve to be punished,” said Kellie Carter, a homeless woman who camps just feet from the spot where Gonzalez was beaten. Carter heard Gonzalez crying for help.

“He said help me, help me, I’m dying,” said Carter, “He said ‘they’re going to come back down and kill me.’”

Carter said she felt safer after hearing police caught their suspects, and she is glad the minors are being charged as adults.

“They’re old enough to do the crime,” said Carter, “They’re old enough to do the time.”
