Beaverton man assaulted by police impersonators

Beaverton Police are investigating after a bizarre incident at an apartment complex early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the apartment at 12392 SW Center Street in Beaverton after reports that a man and woman, dressed like and presenting themselves as police officers entered the home, and assaulted the male occupant.

The two suspects handcuffed the man and then assaulted him with a club, pepper spray and a taser. The victim was later identified as Justus Akwenuke.

The sound of the commotion woke the female resident of the apartment who was then persuaded to leave with the suspects.

She was taken to a park in S.E. Portland where she was asked to complete a written statement regarding disclosures she made to the suspects while inside the apartment.

The female victim was not assaulted and was taken back to Beaverton and released.

The male victim was not seriously hurt. The two suspects took a cell phone and some drugs from the apartment before leaving.

The male suspect was described as approximately 40 years old, stood about 5'9" and weighs about 200 lbs. He had short dark brown hair that is balding down the middle of his head.

The female suspect was approximately 30 years old, stood about 5'6" and weighs about 190-200 lbs.

Beaverton Police ask that anyone with information regarding this case call the Beaverton Police Department at 503-629-0111.
