In the last year, police were called to a suspected Hillsboro drug house 44 times in response to citizen-generated complaints and requests, officers said Thursday.
The same house was destroyed late Wednesday night by a fire that was ruled later arson.
The fire started just after 11:30 p.m. at 125 NW Connell in Hillsboro.
Police had been to the home just six hours earlier to serve several restraining orders to multiple people.
The home and contents, estimated to be worth about $225,000, were ruled a total loss, according to police. No one was inside the home at the time firefighters arrived.
Investigators don't know what exactly sparked the fire. A neighbor said she heard multiple explosions prior to the fire.
Deputies said they’re called to the home often and it was reported to contain a meth operation. The house has a history of drug activity.
Due to the risk to firefighters, they fought the from blaze outside only.
