VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) -- A southwest Washington man who disapeared over the weekend while on a motorcycle ride was found dead today after he apparently crashed his bike into an area not visible from the road.
Authorities identify the victim as 41-year-old Robert O. Hayes of Yacolt, Wash.
According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Hayes left his home about 5 a.m. Sunday to meet a friend for breakfast in the Woodland area but never showed up.
After a search aided by technology to trace his cell phone, Hayes was found about 4 a.m. today trapped beneath his motorcycle near Amboy.
Investigators say Hayes may have had a medical emergency before the crash, but the cause was under investigation.
