A bicyclist was killed on Hwy. 204 near Pendleton.

Marilyn Jensen, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. Darin Helman with Oregon State Police. Jensen was wearing a helmet.

About 7:10 a.m., Laura Lea Rachor, 18, was driving a Pontiac westbound on Hwy. 204 near State Highway 11 when her car drifted onto the paved highway shoulder and rear-ended Jensen, Helman said.

After crashing into the bicycle, the Pontiac veered across the highway and came to rest on its top on the eastbound shoulder.

Rachor was transported by ambulance to Walla Walla General Hospital with minor injuries, according to Helman.

The highway was closed for about two hours.
