Governor vetoes OMSI bailout proposal

Governor Ted Kulongoski Thursdsay vetoed the latest plan to bail out the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.
The plan had called for using the $4.6 million dollars of fees collected from electric customers to bail out OMSI's old construction debt. But the governor felt that was an inappropriate use of those particular funds and urged OMSI officials to find another source.
OMSI officials said Thursday that they had already begun actively pursuing alternatives with state, county, and city representatives, and hoped to reaching a new solution by the next Legislative session in February 2008.
