VANCOUVER, Wash. – Police have arrested the boyfriend of a woman who was run over and killed after passers by tried to help her along I-5 in the Camas area early Thursday morning.

KGW report on woman run over

Authorities have not charged him in connection with her death. He was arrested for allegedly violating a restraining order just three hours before she died.

Sgt. Thomas Butch with Washington State Patrol told KGW that around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, two people said they spotted a woman lying in the middle of the off-ramp to Camas and stopped to help her.

They also said a white van suddenly sped away and ran over the median after they reached the woman.

The Good Samaritans said they spoke to the injured woman briefly and she actually sat up and moaned. Then, moments later, another vehicle exited off the freeway and accidentally ran her over.

The woman, identified as 46-year-old Rebecca Hagge, died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that ran her over, 23-year-old Geovanni Anselmo-Ramone, didn’t see Hagge in the road. He stayed on scene and was not cited.

Troopers were trying to figure out who was driving the first van that sped off so they can take that person in for questioning.

The van that hit her may be Hagge's own vehicle and is now missing. Police are asking for help finding Hagge's van -- a 1992 Ford Aerostar that’s white with a black stripe on the side. It has Washington licence plate 238-USH.
