Double homicide in Gresham

GRESHAM, Ore. – Police Thursday identified two murder victims whose bodies were discovered a day earlier in a Gresham condominium.

Officers found the bodies of Anthony Patrick Cooper and Melinda Beth Kotkins Wednesday after a Northwest Natural Gas employee noticed a foul odor coming from inside a residence at 836 NE 3rd. Cooper and Kotkins both lived at the address.

Investigators believe the victims' bodies had been there for more than seven days before they were discovered.

An autopsy confirmed that the pair died of homicidal violence. They both had criminal records, police said.
