Injured shark washes up along Oregon coast
09:39 AM PDT on Monday, August 6, 2007
An injured salmon shark washed ashore Sunday morning in Arch Cape, Ore.
The injured shark.
It was alive when Spokane resident Ken Johnson photographed it, he said, but the shark disappeared a short time later, possibly having returned to the ocean somehow.
The shark was between 4 and 5 feet long and was found lying in a small pool of blood.
A slightly larger salmon shark also washed up at Rockaway Beach at the end of last month. That shark was already dead when found.
