'Waddling Bandit' changes plea in bank robberies

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The bank robbery suspect dubbed ‘The Waddling Bandit’ by the FBI changed his plea to guilty in court Tuesday.

Dante Dapolonia, 62, entered a guilty is accused of robbing ten banks, including seven in Oregon.
He also admitted to robbing 20 additional banks, but won’t be prosecuted for those crimes under his plea bargain.
Dapolonia faces up to 200 years in prison and a $2.5 million fine. He must also pay more than $85,000 in restitution.

Judge Hogan scheduled Dapolonia’s sentencing for October 14th.
