The nude body of 25-year-old Misty DeVaney was found Sunday by people walking their dogs on an unpaved road.

An autopsy has been performed, but Multnomah County authorities have declined to release the cause of death. DeVaney used to live in Portland and has a history of prostitution charges. Investigators say they have no suspects in custody.

Hikers found the naked body of a woman off an access road south of Scappoose and near Highway 30 on Sunday.

Lieutenant Jason Gates with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said the two hikers were walking their dog on an unpaved access road near Highway 30 near milepost 16 when the animal alerted them to the body around 11 a.m.

Investigators were still gathering details but Gates did say the woman was naked and found in an "unnatural position." He added that the remains were not badly decomposed, but it was too early to estimate how long the body had been at the location.

Tipsters reported noticing suspicious activity leading up to the discovery of a woman's body found near Scappoose over the weekend, authorities said.

Calls have been pouring into a Sheriff's tip line and detectives were following up on dozens of new leads, they said.

The crime scene was only a few hundred yards from a very busy stretch of Highway 30. Nearly 24,000 cars pass the spot every day.

One man who provided police with a tip said he spotted a suspicious four door parked in the area last Thursday afternoon. According to him, the man in the car was putting on what looked like blue surgical gloves.

A team of search and rescue volunteers scoured the crime scene Monday while detectives mapped the area where the body was found.
