FBI agents arrested Justin Michael Gillen, 24, Thursday at his Oregon City home for allegedly possessing child porn, according to Beth Anne Steele, spokeswoman for the FBI’s Portland office.

Gillen is a high school teacher at the private school run by the Grand View Baptist Church in Beavercreek.

An undercover FBI agent linked Gillen to several photographs depicting child pornography. Authorities later found child porn on Gillen’s home and work computers, Steele said.

Gillen appeared in court in Portland on Friday.

Statistics show that each year, about one in five children ages 10-17 receives a sexual solicitation over the Internet. One in three children is threatened online by predators or bullies.

Of middle school students surveyed, 85 percent spent at least one hour a week on the Internet. Of those, 60 percent received messages from strangers, and two-thirds of those who did responded.
