Fred Meyer cams catch suspects wanted for ransacking home

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Surveillance photos from a Portland Fred Meyer show three suspects wanted for robbing a family's home while they walked to church.

The robbery happened the morning of July 20 at the home on the 100 block of Northeast Meikle.

Portland police detectives said the suspects stole cell phones, a laptop, an iPod, video equipment, jewelry, credit cards and the family car. Investigators described the home as "ransacked."

Several hours later an employee from the Fred Meyer on SE Division Street called police to say three people tried to use a credit card buy hundreds of dollars with of clothes, then took off when asked for ID.

The suspects were described as:

-- A white man in his 20s, 5’10”, weighing 170 pounds, short or possibly shaved head, goatee, and multiple tattoos on both arms and back of neck. He was wearing a white baseball cap, white short sleeve T-shirt with “Hurley” on the front and plaid shorts

-- A white woman in her 20s, with long straight brown hair, wearing a dark-colored short sleeve top and dark-colored pants.

-- A white man, in his 20s, short dark hair, wearing a short sleeve striped polo shirt

The family's stolen Toyota Highlander was found abandoned five days later on Northeast Hoyt Street.

Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests. Call (503) 823-HELP.
