'Animal communicator' says lost horse is hurt, running out of time

Lost horse

Chris Hanen is worried sick about his lost horse. He is now asking for the public's help to find his 20-year-old Arabian gelding, Beau.

The horse has been missing for nearly a month, after a young boy fell off Beau during a family ride. Hanen says while he helped the child, Beau ran away and disappeared in the Mountaindale area.

"I'm very worried, I thought he'd show up right away." Hanen adds, so far, there's been no sign of Beau.

Three days after Beau disappeared, Hanen hired International Canine Rescue, a tracking company.

Dogs followed Beau's scent to some open fields in the area of Dairy Creek Road and Corey Road in the hills around Mountaindale. But that's where the scent went cold. Hanen also posted flyers about the missing horse.

Now Hanen has employed the help Eileen Williams, who claims to be an "animal communicator." Williams says she can talk to animals on a spiritual level, just like talking on a telephone.

She was able to connect with Beau Monday, Williams said.

Williams gave Hanen a few leads about Beau's whereabouts, plus some bad news -- Williams told him Beau is injured, exhausted, dehydrated and hungry, laying on the ground, near a road. He got spooked by a wild animal while he and the boy were riding last month and tried to get home but took a wrong turn.

Now he’s lost.

"She thinks he sees trees and hears cars, but that he's hurt and cannot get up." Hanen adds, "we have to find him, we may have just a few days!"

He's scoured the pastures and hills in his neighborhood, with no luck.

Beau is a dark Bay Arabian, meaning he's a rich brown color with a black mane and tale. He has a white star, or spot, on his forehead. When he disappeared in late June he was wearing a black western saddle with blue saddle pad, and a bridle.

Beau has been a part of the Hanen family for more than eight years.

"We just want him home," Hanen said.
