Milwaukie teen hit by train left with serious injuries

MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Police said an 18-year-old man was seriously injured when he was hit by a train in Milwaukie early Sunday.
It happened just after midnight near the 2500 block of SE Olsen St.

Police said Steven Robert Dixon had just left a nearby home when he fell onto the tracks and the northbound Union Pacific freight train hit him.
An off-duty certified nursing assistant and her husband were giving the victim first aid.
Dixon suffered life threatening leg and head injuries and was transported to OHSU.
He was taken to the intensive care unit at OHSU and listed in critical condition Sunday night.
