Gordon Charles Lintner stopped his pickup, knelt to check on Terry McFie and said he was going to get help. Instead, he fled and police had to track him down with the help of a strip club employee.
The 47-year-old Lintner apologized to McFie in court in Portland during sentencing on Friday and says he thinks about what he did every day.
The 57-year-old McFie suffered a shattered leg and internal injuries requiring removal of his spleen and part of his colon and pancreas. He still lives in a care facility three months after the accident.
