Suspect arrested in possible gang shooting on SE Division

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A police officer driving in southeast Portland around 8 p.m. Thursday heard gunshots Thursday and was flagged down moments later, alerted to a shooting victim, according to Portland Police Bureau.

The officer responded and found a man had been shot near the intersection of SE 82nd Ave. and Division Street. A witness described a suspected vehicle in the shooting and police located it moments later, detaining two male subjects, Detective Mary Wheat said.
Mikhail Polishchuk, 29, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
A nearby traffic camera operated by the Oregon Department of Transportation caught the arrest.
The victim was recovering at an area hospital and was expected to live, Wheat said.
Police suspect it was a gang-related shooting.
