OREGON CITY, Ore. -- Former Clackamas Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Claggett is headed back to court Monday for allegedly cutting his electronic monitoring bracelet and violating terms of release.

Claggett has been wearing the bracelet since his arrest in April on kidnapping and assault charges, stemming from allegations of domestic abuse from his ex-wife and that he’d taken his children without permission.

His electronic ankle bracelet emitted a tamper alarm about 4:30 a.m. Friday, prompting Clackamas County to head out at check on him at his Oregon City residence.

When they got there, Claggett was gone. Deputies sent out a call alerting police to be on the lookout for his truck.

It was believed that he also had his young son with him -- a violation of Claggett’s release agreement, according to Clackamas County.

The former sheriff’s deputy was located near Sandy about 45 minutes later.

Claggett was arrested for violating the terms of his April release and has been lodged in Clackamas County Jail on a full bail amount of $100,000.

His son has been returned unharmed and Claggett will face a judge Monday morning.

Claggett resigned his position with the sheriff’s office last summer after allegations that he inappropriately touched a female on duty. The charges were never pursued due to lack of evidence, according to the district attorney.
