EUGENE -- A man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Woodburn on Monday and a Wells Fargo Bank in Coos Bay on July 3 was arrested in Eugene Thursday by U.S. Marshals as he came out of a motel with a stripper.

Lane County Jail

Dean John Perri

Dean John Perri, 39, was taken into custody outside a Motel 6 after a short foot chase.

The U.S. Marshal’s office said in a prepared statement that Perri has two separate convictions, including one for a weapons violation in 1999. Until his Thursday noon arrest, he had been at-large for a decade.

A coalition of police agencies in the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force learned of Perri’s whereabouts and tracked him to the Motel 6 on International Way in Eugene. The task force then started undercover surveillance at and around the motel.

The stripper with Perri at the time of the arrest was questioned and released.

A  man entered the Woodburn Wells Fargo bank about 10:30 Monday morning, demanded money and showed a handgun. He fled in a dark green Ford Taurus. Surveillance photos from the Woodburn and Coos Bay robberies show similarities between the two men.
