Woodburn bomb scare ends; Highway 99E reopened

A suspicious package outside a Bank of America in Woodburn turned out to be janitorial supplies. Streets that were closed during the investigation, including 99E, have reopened.

A bomb squad from the Salem police department had been sent to the bank.
On Dec. 12, an explosion at the West Coast Bank in Woodburn killed William Hakim, an Oregon State Police bomb expert, and Woodburn police captain TomTennant.
Also injured in the blast was Woodburn Chief Scott Russell, who just recently returned to work.
