Body of missing paddle boarder found on sandbar in Gorge

HOOD RIVER, Ore. -- The body of a paddle boarder from San Francisco who disappeared on the Columbia River near Wells Island this past weekend was found Tuesday.

Sheriff's Detective Matt English said Tuesday that someone walking on the shore of the Columbia River found the body of 48-year-old Paul Mann on a sandbar.
Mann was first reported missing around 1 p.m. Friday. Rescue teams combed the area all day Saturday but had to suspend their efforts around 5:30 p.m. in order to be prepared for Fourth of July duties.
