Police said the 49-year-old woman was jogging through the park with her english pointer just before noon on Saturday.

Officers said the woman and her dog passed by 87-year-old Edward Leonard of Tualatin and his 59-year-old son, Michael Leonard of Gresham who were walking and playing with their three dogs; two Rottweilers and a long-haired Sheppard.

The jogger’s dog and one of the Leonard’s Rottweilers began to fight with each other.

During the fight, both the jogger and the father and son attempted to separate the dogs.

One of the Rottweiler’s bit the woman on her hand and leg and bit the english pointer on the hindquarters.

The dog that inflicted the bite wounds was quarantined by Washington County Animal Control and will remain in custody for ten days.

Police said that if the dog is released, both the dog's owner, Mr. Leonard and his son would likely be cited by Washington County Animal Control Officers for several violations, including, maintaining a dangerous animal.

The female jogger took her dog to a Tualatin emergency veterinary clinic and she was taken by personal vehicle to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
