PORTLAND, Ore. - Hedo Turkoglu will not join the Portland Trail Blazers, a source close to the franchise told Newschannel 8 Friday night.

For much of the day, ESPN had reported that the team had reached a verbal agreement with Turkoglu.

The 6'-10" forward from Turkey had been Portland's top free agent target.

Turkoglu came to Portland for a visit Thursday and had, along with his agent, reportedly been negotiating with General Manager Kevin Pritchard.

The source did not reveal what had caused a break down in the talks, but said there was very little chance of Turkoglu becoming a Blazer.
