03:41 PM PDT on Monday, June 30, 2008
Two men were struck by lightning in the Damascus area Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Both victims are men in their 50's or 60's who were hit by lightning outside a home at 222nd Drive and Tillstrom road in Damascus, said Alice Lasher with the Boring Fire Department.
Neighbors told KGW one of the victims was a contractor who had come to survey a project for Ed Wetterlin, the man who lives at the Damascus house.
Wetterlin was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in serious condition, but was upgraded to fair by late Monday morning.
