Traffic stop leads to Aloha gang murder arrest

HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Police arrested a fourth suspect in a gang-related murder last spring.

Jildardo Blancas-Perez, 24, was arrested Friday and charged with the murder of Constantino Cruz on May 20, 2007, in Aloha.

Washington County

Blancas-Perez was driving on the Beaverton-Hillsdale highway when an officer ran his license plate and found he was wanted for murder.

In May, 2007, deputies responding to a car crash found Cruz in the driver's seat with gunshot and stab wounds near 206th Ave. and Francis Street, just west of Aloha.

Luis Alberto Gonzalez, 23, was sentenced to life for the killing last week, one other suspect was also convicted and another case was pending. Though Gonzalez did not plunge the knife into the victim's neck, a Washington County judge found him guilty of murder under the aid-and-abet theory.

Background: Life sentence in gang killing

The man who stabbed Cruz, Casimiro Blancas, was sentenced to life in prison last month. A third man was awaiting trial.

Prosecutors say Blancas and fellow gang members sought to harm Cruz because he had punched Blancas during a fight outside a convenience store.

Police said Cruz belonged to a rival gang.
