11:05 AM PDT on Sunday, June 21, 2009
Two men were injured, one of them critically, when their Toyota Camry collided with a truck and semi-trailer on I-5 near the Charbonneau exit.
After the Camry was hit by the truck and tractor trailer, the Camry driver lost control and the car crossed all three lanes of the freeway, hit the median barrier, flipped over and landed upside down blocking two lanes of I5.
William Brown, 32, of Junction City was driving the 2005 Toyota. He was treated at OHSU for minor injuries. His passenger, David Campbell, 65, also of Junction City, had to be taken by Life Flight to OHSU and was listed in critical condition.
All northbound lanes of I-5 were shut down for 45 minutes early Sunday morning while fire crews from Canby and Aurora tried to remove the two men from the car.
The driver of the big rig, Martin Landeros, 41, of Salinas, California was cited by Oregon State Police for making an unsafe lane change. He was not injured.
