09:28 AM PDT on Saturday, June 21, 2008
SALEM, Ore. -- Authorities say a couple from Marion County has been arrested on criminal neglect charges and their nine children taken into protective custody.
The parents were identified Friday as 41-year-old Robyn Drown and 48-year-old Graydon Drown.
Sheriff's deputies got allegations from a tipster and the state Department of Human Services.
The allegations involved both physical abuse and neglect. The department did not provide details.
The county sheriff's office says the children range in age from six weeks to 16 years.
Deputies took a search warrant Thursday to the Drown home in Turner south of Salem and arrested the two parents.
