Tigard vehicles smashed by watermelon-throwing vandals

Tigard Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office are investigating a string of smashed windshields.
Witnesses say the vandals hit about 4:30 Wednesday morning in the Bull Mountain and King City area.
Police think the suspects threw watermelons from a fast moving car. They smashed the windshields of nearly a half dozen cars and trucks that had been parked on the street overnight.
No one was hurt.
For victims, the damage is significant.
"Right now with the housing market, being a landscape contractor, you know things are hard enough, and when you are faced with something like this that is down for a week. You can't use, you can't make money with a certain route cause the vehicle is down, you know it is senseless," said John Darby while standing in front of his smashed truck.
Police say the vandals could face felony charges.
