SHERIDAN, Ore. -- Ten businesses and a home were evacuated for about two hours Wednesday morning after someone noticed a suspicious package outside the First Federal Bank.
Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ken Summers said the bomb squad was called to the bank on Bridge Street and determined the package was a cigarette pack with $800 inside wrapped in black plastic bag.
There was a deposit slip with the money and deputies are working to contact the owner of the money.
