An Aloha woman, who advertised on the Web site craigslist, was arrested Wednesday for prostitution, the sheriff’s office said. kgw.com/Wash. Co. Sheriff's Dept. Aloha resident Irene Nair was arrested for prostitution. The Washington County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit arrested Irene Nair, 34, of as part of an ongoing investigation into Internet arranged prostitution occurring in Washington County, said Sgt. David Thompson, a spokesman for the sheriff's department. It was the fourth arrest for prostitution linked to the free classified Web site in a week. Three women were arrested last week by Salem police for using craigslist to advertise their sexual services. Nair has been doing business on "craigslist" for quite some time. She previously arranged for "customers" to come to her residence at 17881 S.W. Robert Lane in Aloha, he said. Neighbors in the area were concerned with the increased traffic at the house. The special operations unit, which was recently created to combat problems occurring in Washington County neighborhoods, began investigating her, Thompson said. Nair has a criminal history in Washington County going back to 1999; during that time she has been booked into the jail 13 times for various crimes.
In Nair’s case, officers contacted her through craigslist and met her at the Beaverton Budget Inn, located at 13295 S.W. Canyon Road in Beaverton, Thompson said.
