Body found on island ID'd as man last seen in Astoria

WARRENTON, Ore. – A decayed body found on an island in the Columbia River was identified as a man missing from Astoria last December.

Clatsop County deputies said two men reported the find on Sand Island near Cape Disappointment on May 15. A medical examiner identified the remains as Kenneth Douglas, who was last seen near the Columbia Memorial Hospital on December 11, 2008, and later reported missing by his family.
A cause of death was not yet determined and police continued to investigate.
Anyone with information in the case was asked to call Warrenton police.
