SALEM, Ore. -- Three women who used a classified ad Web site to solicit sex were charged with prostitution Thursday at a Salem motel, police said.

Natsuko Kori has been charged with prostitution.

The women, who were working out of the Salem Inn on Freeway Court NE, advertised their services on craigslist, an internet classified ad site, said Lt. Steve Bellshaw, a spokesman with the Salem Police Department.

Bellshaw said police officers used the craigslist ads to set up meeting times with the women.

The three women arrested at the undercover sting were Tyra Clisby, 20; Natsuko Kori, 25; and Shayleen Macy, 20.

All three are Portland residents, he said.

Bellshaw said they got a tip that the three women were using craigslist to solicit business.

Among the 45 listings under erotic services on the Web site, he said most were for prostitution.

Shayleen Macy was charged with prostitution.

A number of them were posted by the three women arrested, he said.

"It is widespread," Bellshaw said of prostitutes using craigslist to post ads. "You can find just about anything you want on craigslist, but I never would have imagined this."

He said the Web site "makes it easier to find prostitutes because you had to go through more ads before. But it's a little tougher to make contact with the girls.

"It's free advertising," Bellshaw added. "They can post pictures. What's kind of odd or frightening is customers giving reviews of their encounters. That's a little disconcerting. People can read about how satisfied they were."
