Anniversary of Wilberger's disappearance; still no body

Thursday marks the third annivesary of the disappearance and suspected murder of Brooke Wilberger and her body has still not been found.

On May 24, 2004 Brooke Wilberger, then 19, vanished from a Corvallis apartment complex.

Wilberger's family was well-known in the Corvallis, Ore. community and Brooke also had strong ties to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was visiting home on break from classes at Brigham Young University when she disappeared.

Background: Man charged with murder in Wilberger case

Joel Courtney, the man accused of abducting and killing Wilberger, remains in a New Mexico jail, awaiting trial on unrelated rape charges for attacking a college student in that state. He will eventually be extradited to Oregon to face trial in the Wilberger case.

Courtney was indicted in July 2005 on 19 counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping, rape and sodomy for Wilberger's murder.
