Oregon man accused of assaulting his infant son
11:42 AM PDT on Friday, May 23, 2008
NORTH BEND, Ore. -- An Oregon man is accused of shaking his six-month-old son so badly that he suffered a severe brain injury Thursday night.
Sean Robertson called police just before 11 p.m. and told dispatcher that his baby boy, Tryson, had stopped breathing and he was driving him to the hospital.
A Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy met them at the hospital where an investigation was begun.
Once Robertson reached the hospital, the emergency room staff said the child was alive, but suffering from bleeding onto the brain caused by abusive head trauma. They diagnosed Tryson with Shaken Baby Syndrome.
The baby was airlifted to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital. Further details on his condition have not been released.
Meantime, Tryson’s dad was taken into custody by Coos County deputies who believe he shook the baby to the point of causing the injury.
Robertson was arrested for assault in the first degree and lodged at the Coos County Jail. His bail was set at $500,000.00.”
