MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Clackamas County sheriff's deputies say a police dog tracked down a man who was arrested on robbery charges involving use of a squirt gun and a knife to rob a gas station.
Clackamas County Detective Jim Strovink said a deputy watched a man run from a Shell station in Milwaukie early Thursday morning.
Deputies surrounded the area and collected items he had thrown away while fleeing including a squirt gun and a knife.
A Clackamas County K-9 named Nero led deputies to 24-year-old John Herman, of Happy Valley, who was hiding in a shopping cart return area in a supermarket parking lot.
Herman was arrested on charges of robbery and parole violation.
