Police seek public's help solving case of Mt. Angel shooting victim
04:18 PM PDT on Friday, May 23, 2008
SALEM, Ore. -- A woman found dead in Marion County earlier this week was shot to death, police said, and investigators are asking the public for help identifiying a vehicle that may be associated with her murder.
Jessica Marie Long, 24, was found dead in the road on Monitor-McKee Road near Highway 214 just two miles north of Mt. Angel. An autopsy was performed at the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office and the cause of death was determined to be homicide by gunshot.
Investigators would like the public's help identifying a 1980's to 1990's Chevrolet or GM full size pick-up. The pick-up was described as light-colored, with a light colored canopy and possibly with a broken side window.

Someone called 911 just after 10 p.m. Wednesday, after finding the woman's body in the road.
Police wouldn't say whether the crime was committed on Monitor-McKee Road or if the woman's body had been dumped there.
Investigators would like information regarding Long's whereabouts and activities in the days and hours leading up to her murder.
