Pedestrian struck by car, in critical condition

GLADSTONE, Ore. -- A man was in critical condition at Oregon Health and Science University after Oregon State Police said he stepped in front of a car.
This happened near Gladstone on McLoughlin Boulevard just south of Boardman Avenue around midnight.
Troopers said visibilty was dark and rainy when the the victim stepped right into traffic and was not using the ross walk when he was struck.
Officers blocked off a section of traffic and spent several hours taking measurements as the rain poured on McLoughlin Boulevard.
The male victim was taken to the hospital, where he was in critical condition.
Troopers said the driver did stop, called 9-1-1 and cooperated with police. There was no indication the driver would faces any charges, and Troopers say there were no signs the driver had been drinking.
