Hillsboro teacher accused of stealing student's coat resigns

HILLSBORO -- A Hillsboro elementary school teacher accused of stealing a student’s coat and attempting to sell it on eBay has resigned, officials said.

The Hillsboro School District accepted Elizabeth Logan's resignation Tuesday night.
Logan faces theft and computer crime charges. She taught first grade at Jackson Elementary School.

She had been on paid administrative leave for the last three months.
Logan claims the incident stemmed from a “misunderstanding.” Police said she changed her story about the jacket after initially saying she took it from a lost-and-found box.
She pleaded innocent during a recent court appearance.
