WOODBURN, Ore. -- A Woodburn School District building was torched late Wednesday night and police think a group of kids might be behind it.
The fire started just before 10 p.m., according to investigators.
Witnesses told police they saw a group of five kids dressed in dark clothing running away from the school late Wednesday night. They said the kids appeared to be around 12- to 14-years old.
The building, a food storage facility, is located behind the French Prairie Middle School, at 1091 Newberg Highway.
Investigators said it appeared that the fire was set in an outhouse toilet and then spread to the building, causing more than $250,000 damage.
No one was injured.
Authorities offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) that started the fire.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Woodburn Police Department at 503-982-2345, or call the tip line at 1-800- 452-7888.
