Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies clocked a Portland man going 138-miles-per-hour early Sunday morning on I-205.

KGW report on high-speed crash

Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday an officer saw the suspect’s 2005 Subaru Impreza speeding southbound on I-205 near S.E. Otty Road.

Using his radar gun, the officer registered the Subaru at 138-miles-per hour and began to follow the car as it sped down the highway.

Officers said that as the suspect’s vehicle exited I-205 onto S.E. Sunnyside Road, the driver failed to negotiate the turn and crashed into the center median.

All three occupants of the vehicle fled from the scene.

Police were able to locate the driver of the car who was identified as 24-year-old Aleksandr A. Sklyarenko of Portland.

Officers were not able to locate the other two occupants of the vehicle.

Sklyarenko was booked into the Clackamas County Jail and faces multiple charges including DUII, eluding a police officer and hit and run damages.
