Public input wanted for new I-5 bridge proposal
04:49 PM PDT on Friday, May 2, 2008
Plans to ease congestion on Interstate 5 over the Columbia River are now up for public comment.
On Friday organizers released an environmental impact study that analyzes five different alternatives for replacing or adding to the bridge between Washington and Oregon.
Most of the plans would include mass-transit only lanes.
Proponents of the project say something must be done to ease congestion.

Organizers hope to decide on a plan by this summer.
Releasing the environmental impact statement kicks off a 60-day public comment period that includes two public hearings.
