Two days after license suspension, teen charged in crash
05:53 PM PDT on Thursday, April 26, 2007
A young driver already had a suspended license for DUII when he crashed into another car seriously injuring a woman Wednesday night, deputies said.
According to Washington County sheriff’s, a deputy saw a car with no lights on near Murray Boulevard just after 11 p.m.
The deputy turned around to follow and found the 1980s Chevy Nova had T-boned another car on Northwest Cornell Road.
Crash investigators think the driver of the Nova was speeding and ran a stop sign, before jumping a curb and crashing into the other car.
Investigators said 61-year-old Elizabeth Sherman was seriously hurt and taken to Legacy Emanuel. The driver of the suspect car, 18-year-old Samuel Wilson, was also injured. Deputies planned to arrest Wilson once he was released.
Police said they suspected alcohol was involved and that Wilson’s license had just been suspended Monday for a DUII in March.
