Good Samaritans rescue woman from burning SUV

A Vancouver woman was critically injured after she lost control of her SUV during a hail storm on Saturday.

Officers with Oregon State Police said that 53-year-old Michele Christensen crashed after her Toyota 4 runner crossed three lanes of traffic and ran into an embankment.
The incident happened around 12 p.m. on Highway 30 near Clatskanie Hill.

Christensen was partially ejected from the car and pinned underneath her vehicle.
Officers said that just after the crash several good Samaritans, including an ODOT employee rushed to the crash scene, righted the SUV and helped to free the woman from her burning vehicle.
Christensen was taken to St. Johns Hospital and then transported to OHSU in Portland for treatment.
